PRECAUTIONS
Metallic yarns have very beautiful colors while they have a few weaknesses. It should be strictly pointed out that they can’t be treated in the way as for other synthetic/natural yarns.
1.Generally, metallic yarns are aluminum metalized or pure silver metalized. The metal is plated on the polyester film through vacuum metalizing. The physical adhesion between the metalized plating and film is insecure and easy to peel off.
2.Aluminum metalized yarns are not resistant to Alkali. Pure silver metalized yarns are not resistant to Acid. The surface of them will turn dark when they touch sulfur. Avoiding sweat when using ST yarns on summer apparel.
3.Color fastnesses of metallic yarns are not strong when compared with other yarns. Certain metallic yarns have weak color fastness, such as STAY type whose color would fade away in sunlight because it adopts fluorescent dyes.
4.When metallic yarns are used for weaving by shuttle loom, please insert them into a reed. In order to avoid the color difference, we suggest that you use over 2 weft.
5.When metallic yarns are used for circular knitting, please pay attention to the stitching situation on knitting in order to avoid the drop stitches. MX type is advised to circular knitting. Be careful when using it. Generally speaking, MH yarns(single ply)are supposed to mix with other yarns.
6.We produce metallic yarns with silicon oil as lubrication. When you may use our metallic yarns for embroidery fabric which liquids easily pass through, please place non-woven fabric under the fabric.
7.We offer a part of date on chemical properties obtained at our lab as our metallic yarns in our sample cards and home page. However, the environment of the actual lot production is more complicated than that of lab tests. Therefore, please test our yarn in advance in terms of oil, rust and stain removal, dyeing, scouring, dry cleaning, drying, ironing, etc. please do not change the conditions after trail when the products is put into mass production.
8.It is important to keep the following process when you first use our metallic yarns:
a.Sample Tests
b.Lot Trails
c.Mass Production
If you may follow the above processes, you would benefit a lot.
